INITIAL PREPARATORY STEPS OF GARDENING AS A HOBBY I recently started gardening more out of necessity. It started not so dramatically. We had a young gardener to look after a small area in front of our house for visits every 2-3 months. He was good and the garden looked very good after one or two days of his visit. Somehow he became too busy. We could not get a good replacement for him. In the meanwhile covid-19 hit the world. It was even more difficult to get folks to help with the garden. So I read up on gardening and took it up. First took a trip upto to the shops for tools, gloves, a pruning scissors and a shearer for the branches. We already had a small crow bar, spades and shovels for digging. When I tried my hand at gardening, I realised my thick leather-like gloves were too bulky for trimming, etc. Water also soaked it easily and it took so long to dry.
